Damit bin ich wohl eine Woche zuspät, dennoch Google Earth ist nun auch für den Mac OSX (10.4) als Download verfügbar.

Google Earth, World Wind & New Orleans

Google Earth bietet nun diverse Image Overlays zum Hurrikan Katrina in der Region um New Orleans an.

Through some serious efforts by NASA, Carnegie Mellon University, and Google, an overlay has been created for 3228 post-Hurricane Katrina images collected by NOAA (through Sept 2nd). Clicking on the link below will show a marker for each image in Google Earth. Click the marker to view the updated image for that location. Please note that these are large overlay files so only open one image at a time for best results. (Google Earth September 3, 2005)

Von WorldWind gibt es auch ein Overlay Add-On der Satellitenbilder von New Orleans, diese sind aber noch nicht georeferenziert.

Google Earth & Blogwise

Via Geotagging und Anmeldung des eigenen Blogs bei Blogwise, lässt sich der Blogindex von Blogwise auf Google Earth übertragen. Somit findet sich meine Website ungefahr dort wo ich sie haben wollte. Zu genau sollte es ja auch nicht sein, doch wer hausgenau seine geokoordinaten setzen will läuft mit dem neuen Google Earth gar nicht so schlecht.
Ansonsten (damit ich auch noch davon berichtet habe ) gefällt mir Google Earth noch ganz gut. Falls die Lust da ist werd ich World Wind und Google Earth einmal gegeneinander vergleichen.
